Health & Supplemental Insurance

Coverage that fits your life—and a plan for the unexpected.

Health insurance should help you access the care you need at a cost you can afford. But comparing plans can feel complicated when each one has a different monthly premium, network, deductible, and share of the cost when you receive care. We’ll help you look beyond the monthly premium, compare each plan’s advantages and limitations, and identify coverage that fits your family’s needs and budget.*

A supplemental policy may provide additional financial help if a covered illness, accident, or hospital stay affects your budget. We can review these options alongside your health coverage so you understand what each policy is designed to do.

Start with your health coverage.

We’ll start with your health care needs and your budget. Tell us about the doctors you prefer, any regular prescriptions, and the needs you expect over the coming year. We’ll use that information to compare available plans and identify the tradeoffs that matter most to you.

Your doctors and prescriptions

A plan’s provider network can affect where you receive care and what you pay. We’ll check whether your preferred doctors and facilities participate in the plans you’re considering and review how those plans handle care outside the network. If you take prescriptions, we’ll also look at whether they appear on the plan’s drug list and what you may pay to fill them. Networks, drug lists, and costs can change, so we’ll confirm the current details before you enroll.

Your total costs

A lower monthly premium does not always mean a lower overall cost. Depending on the plan, you may also pay a deductible, copayments, or coinsurance when you receive care. We’ll compare the monthly premium with these potential expenses, look at the plan’s out-of-pocket limit where applicable, and discuss how the costs fit your budget. That way, you can choose with a clearer picture of both the regular payment and what a year with more medical care might cost.*

Where can supplemental insurance help?

Health coverage can still leave you with expenses when life takes an unexpected turn. A covered accident, serious diagnosis, or hospital stay may bring costs beyond the medical bills themselves—such as travel, household expenses, or time away from work. Certain supplemental policies pay a stated benefit when a covered event meets the policy’s requirements. If payable, that benefit can give you flexibility to use the money where you need it.

Options may include accident, critical illness, or hospital indemnity coverage. Each works differently: one policy may pay for a qualifying injury, another after a covered diagnosis, and another for an eligible hospital stay. We’ll look at the benefit amounts, exclusions, limitations, waiting periods, and premiums before considering whether a policy adds useful protection for you.

Let’s review the whole picture.

You may be choosing health coverage for the first time, replacing a plan that no longer fits, or wondering whether your current protection leaves room for improvement. We’ll start with what you have now and what concerns you most. Then we’ll review the available health plans and any supplemental options that fit your goals and budget, so you can make a decision with confidence. Your next health surprise shouldn't be a coverage surprise.

* We compare coverage options from the insurance companies we represent; we do not offer every plan available in your area. Availability, eligibility, premiums, benefits, provider networks, prescription coverage, exclusions, waiting periods, and out-of-pocket costs vary by plan. Supplemental insurance provides limited benefits and is designed to complement comprehensive health insurance, rather than replace it. We’ll review the official plan details with you before you enroll.
